7/26/18 - Off My Head: A Lasting Storytelling Experience

Join us for another evening of oftentimes funny, sometimes poignant, always authentic personal stories.

Ty Fance - Originally from Houston, Texas, Ty performs his stories throughout Southern California. Ty’s stories are carefully crafted to be authentic, relatable and entertaining; and feature his journey into and through fatherhood; reflections of marriage; and his colorful childhood – rediscovered.
Ty’s book of autobiographical short stories is entitled – Off My Head and Over the Fence.
Ty produces a local storytelling show - Off My Head – a lasting storytelling experience.

Thi Nguyen - is currently teaching the future of LA as an elementary school substitute teacher as well as feeding the hungry at a ramen restaurant. Occasionally, she tells stories and acts in small theater productions. Three fun facts about Thi: two years ago she had active tuberculosis and was in isolation for a month; at the end of her freshman year of high school; she won “Most Improved” in water polo and orchestra for playing the flute; and finally, she can solve a Rubik's cube in under 2 minutes, (sometimes). Check out her blog, msthinguyen.com.

Amanda Pomeroy - began her career as an actor. Frustrated with a lack of good material to use in her acting class, she began writing scenes and monologues for her fellow actors and quickly transitioned into screenwriting. She has developed feature projects with Eli Holzman (producer of CBS’s “Undercover Boss”), was a staff writer on CW's "Significant Mother" and sold her first original TV pilot to 20th Century Fox. Her background includes reality programming as a producer and writer for the Style Network’s, “Clean House Comes Clean” and National Geographic’s new “Do or Die!." She freelances as a celebrity ghostwriter and specializes in inspirational entertainment.

Katsy Chappell - is an actress, stand-up comic, world traveler, and “quirky crafter.”

Katya Duft - is a public transit blogger (Tales From the Bus, Uberrations: Odd Stories of Uber Travel), a recent Moth winner (2017); and frequent participant of LA storytelling shows like BUSTed, Tattle Tales, Bada Bing Bada Boom, All the Feels etc.

Dan Freedman - is the executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affair a Lionsgate/Good Universe. A graduate of the University of Arizona and Loyola Law School, Dan focuses his professional attention on making movie deals, hoping to make people laugh out loud or flinch with fear. When not writing contracts, Dan focuses his amateur attention on writing human interest and analytical stories about his first love: baseball. Writing about baseball led Dan to become more introspective, and opened him up to both fictional storytelling and person essays. Dan’s work has appeared on his own baseball-related blog (www.baseballcraziness.com), www. Thefieldsofgreen.com, and in the Jewish Journal. Dan lives in Studio City with his wife and their collective of five kids (three of his own, and two from his wife.)

Dan Tirman - has been telling stories in Los Angeles since 2001; sharing memories of his childhood in Long Island, NY, his formative years as an actor on the east coast, and his work as a college instructor to immigrants learning English. He also shares his tales of intermittent show business employment in Hollywood and frequent "run-ins" with some of the late and great stars of yesteryear.
